David Holzer, Writer & Blog Writer for Charles Marlow & Bros
Writer David Holzer has had a home in Mallorca for almost 20 years. He has been in love with Deia and fascinated by the village since his first visit in 1997. David is good friends with many of Deia’s artists, musicians, writers and characters.
David has been writing for Charles Marlow for over five years. He wrote the first ever post on The Deia Olive Press blog and now writes for several different aspects of the business – celebrating everything from the pure, magical nature of Mallorca to the chic Ibiza lifestyle. Safe to say, David is valued as a key member of the team.
A freelance writer for many years, David is the author of a number of books and magazine articles, mainly on the subjects of the Beat writers, yoga and music. He is currently researching and writing a book on the astonishing cultural history of Deia, from before Robert Graves to now.
David also teaches yoga. More specifically, he teaches yoga for writers. In 2017 he created and taught probably the first ever online yoga for writers course. His latest yoga for writers course on the popular DailyOM platform has been taken by hundreds of people.

From the very beginning, I’ve greatly appreciated Charles Marlow allowing me to follow my nose and write about aspects of Deià, Mallorca and Ibiza that can be somewhat obscure and esoteric. I believe this reflects one of the very real strengths of the business – combining sound business sense with a love of the Balearic Islands that’s about far more than the bottom line.
Today, working with different members of the Charles Marlow team, I’m inspired by the team’s curiosity, openness, willingness to do things differently and our shared love of where we all live.
