The Deia Olive Press is written and edited by David Holzer. David, who lives in Mallorca, has been coming to Deia for around twenty years and has strong ties to the village.

A freelance writer for many years, David is the author of a number of books and magazine articles, mainly on the subjects of the Beat writers and yoga. He is fascinated by the remarkably rich cultural history of Deia, from Robert Graves to the present day, and is currently researching and writing a book on the subject.

David also teaches yoga for writers. In 2017 he offered probably the first ever online yoga for writers course. He will be offering a new course on a highly-regarded international platform later in 2018
