Hidden Gems #14 Maricel Hotel serves ‘the best breakfast in the World’July 11, 2016

Who doesn’t love a delicious fresh breakfast?  If you´re a breakfast lover like me then you must book a table for breakfast at the Maricel Hotel, near Cala Mayor.  This particular breakfast has been granted ¨the best breakfast in the World¨ by critics at the II Summit of Madrid Fusion.  Set aside 3 hours of your morning to enjoy an 8 course tasting menu which will send you on a gastronomical journey of exquisite dishes.

You will begin with 3 different fresh fruit juices, all prepared to be enjoyed in a particular order followed by a selection of fruits and different mini yoghurts, this then leads onto a variety of different sweet and savoury dishes including wine and champagne.  All of this can be enjoyed from their elegant outdoor terrace overlooking a beautiful peaceful bay under the sun.

The hotel offers this breakfast all year round.  I have been lucky enough to experience this breakfast twice – once in the height of summer and the second time in December and both were equally as enjoyable.  I would recommend taking a few hours out of your day to relax after this breakfast since it can be quite a battle to finish!
