Charlie’s Corner and the importance of transparency in the property businessJanuary 10, 2017

It is the start of a New Year and an opportunity to set new intentions. At Charles Marlow we are focused on building a professional, transparent way to buy and rent property in Mallorca.

As I reflect on a fantastic year for the business, we have a lot to be proud of and grateful for. Our team has grown and we have three strong ladies (aka the Charlie’s Angels) running our Deia office.

Gemma is heading up our marketing and communications, building strong relationships and allowing us to give back to the beautiful island we are able to call home.

Nikol has overseen our first full year of holiday property rentals, which was a great success. The large number of glowing testimonials you have given us are testament to this. We will continue to raise the bar this year and provide a holiday rental service that people continue to love and talk about.

Maria has had another wonderful year of sales with Charles Marlow and I’m sure those of you who have spent time with her will know what an asset she is to the business. I am proud of her achievements this year – it turns out that I am not the only one, we have competitors trying to poach her. Hands off!!

The rain finally came 

For those of you who would like to know (and sorry to those who would not), the sun has been shining here following a huge downpour over Christmas which was needed after 12 months of zero rain. This has breathed life into the nature and a freshness fills the air.   As I have said many times before, the early months of the year are a lovely time to spend on the Mallorca; whether to enjoy the miraculous walking paths all to yourselves or to indulge in a weekend break in Palma. It can give you the lift you need until Easter arrives.

Transparency is key to us

We had a strong end to 2016 when it became clear that many people are getting fed up with the goings-on around the world and feel it’s time to invest their hard-earned money to enjoy in a place like Deia. This trend has continued into this year with the number of enquiries we have received up on January last year. Finding the right home continues to be the challenge for many but, through our network we are able to offer the best homes along this coast, discounting the overpriced and unsellable ones, to make sure your time is not wasted.
