Book your dream Deia villa – Q&A Villa Cas FideveMarch 2, 2017

Lauren Day is a Partner at Ellis Jones Solicitors and lives and works between London and Bournemouth. In September ’16 she rented Deia villa Cas Fideve for a holiday with her fiancé and a group of friends and family. Read here about their Deia rental experience.

What attracted you to book your holiday in Deia?

I had never visited Mallorca but had always heard very good things about the island and especially Deia and my group wanted to try somewhere that none of us had been before. It is also very handy that we could fly from Bournemouth to Palma as it makes the door to door journey just a few hours and very convenient.

We stayed in a villa called Cas Fideve which was close to the church directly in the village.

How was your experience with Charles Marlow?

The thing we all really appreciated about Charles Marlow was how they took our very specific brief (6 adults, 2 small babies, a pool, a view, outside space etc.) and found us exactly what we wanted! Once we had booked the house they also provided us with an array of ideas of things to do personalised to the group. They sorted babysitters, restaurant bookings and even went shopping with our list to ensure we were stocked up and able to enjoy our holiday from the moment we arrived. They even sourced us a pram when one of our group realised he had left it at home!

What did you love about your rental villa? cas fideve bed

We loved the view of the mountains and he outside area that our villa offered was really crucial for us because we wanted to socialise outside in the sun and fresh air but with total privacy which is exactly what we got. Cas Fideve is perfect for a BBQ with its outdoor kitchen area. Inside the décor was so interesting and traditional and there was some lovely art on the walls. And the beds were super comfy!

Would you recommend Charles Marlow?

Abso-bloomin-lutely! It was a first for me to use an agent, usually I would book my holiday using sites like Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia etc. We were a group of 6 very busy adults leading crazy lives in London and my sister and her friend are both first time mum’s on their first holiday with their babies so we really wanted to make sure the house would be perfect for them to relax. The helpfulness and personal touch of Charles Marlow was exceptional – they sorted out cots and high chairs and as I said even a pram and any questions we had leading up to the trip were dealt with very quickly. And it was lovely to get a welcome hamper with nice vino and a pretty postcard when we arrived! Personal touches really do go a long way.

What did you do whilst on holiday in Deia?

We ate out at yummy restaurants – we especially loved Nama with its simple stylish decor and exciting Asian fusion menu. We went to Cala Deia to swim and sunbathe and to have lunch at C’as Patro March which we were all excited to visit because of the Night Manager series. We played board games and drank sangria at Sa Fonda and my partner and I had a fun night out in Port de Soller whilst the mummies and their babies caught up on sleep. We also enjoyed pedicures with Spa@Home and we had Indian head massages and yoga in the privacy of our villa organised by Charles Marlow. We went to the Sa Tafona gallery in La Residencia to see some art and we had lots of fun and home cooked meals in our gorgeous villa which was a brief walk away from the shop if we needed more wine!

What do think about the architecture in Deia?

It really is very special just like a postcard. Cas Fideve is just magical and full of history. We loved it and can’t wait to visit again.

Any tips for anyone looking to book a holiday in Deia?

It is very hilly –  so be prepared to walk steep inclines. Walking up from the Cala Deia is pretty hard core in the heat of the day especially after a big feast and taxis can be hard to get in the peak season which Charles Marlow did warn us about. Great for bums though and totally worth it for that Night Manager experience!

Thanks Lauren – we look forward to welcoming you again soon.

2020 update: Cas Fideve is unfortunately no longer available for rent – but many other fantastic villas in the Deia area are. Get in touch with the team and check our our rentals page to book your Deia dream holiday.
