Deia and the west coast of Mallorca are famous worldwide for their unspoilt natural beauty and magical charms. It’s not surprising then that, every year, more and more people visit our part of the island and fall in love. Many decide to come back for their next holiday and rent a house. But, with properties in such high demand from spring to the end of October when the summer season finishes, finding the rental for you when it suits you best can be a challenge.

I asked Nikol, Charles Marlow’s property rental manager, to share her tips for making sure you have the best possible opportunity to spend your holiday precisely where you’ve chosen to be.

When should people start looking at rental properties, Nikol?

To be honest, if you don’t want to compromise, it’s really best to start looking in October or November for the following summer. Some of our clients even book a year in advance. We always suggest that people call into our office when they’re on holiday in Deia and talk to us about their next trip. But, don’t worry, we still have a great range of properties to choose from available now. It’s just that they get snapped up fast.

How do I make sure I secure the rental I really want?

Be as specific as you can. Want to be in walking distance of the village? Mention it. Prefer a rustic interior? Let us know. Is a pool or a sea view a must? Tell us everything. Our team members know our properties inside out and will help you choose the best one.

What common mistakes do people make?

I have to say it’s booking too late. So, if you haven’t already decided on Deia, please get in touch with us now.

Can I get a bargain?

Prices vary throughout the year. Out of season, they’re significantly lower and you might be able to negotiate. In high season, from June through September, they’re non-negotiable.

Is it better to find one property I really want and go for it or choose several that are acceptable?

Enquire about as many properties as you like. One of our team members will always be available to discuss your requirements, answer all your questions and help you choose the right property.

What’s the correct way to work with Charles Marlow and rental owners to get what you want but also maintain a friendly relationship?

We need to treat our surroundings with love, care and respect so that everyone who comes after us can enjoy this place as much as we do.
