OK, we must confess that this perfect prank played on our Andreas in the Charles Marlow office isn’t an April Fool. It happened on Valentine’s Day. But we couldn’t resist sharing it with you.
Andreas, being a very good sport, is happy for you to have a good laugh at his expense. ‘I’m here to delight Charles Marlow’s clients,’ says Andreas. ‘And if that includes putting a smile on their faces and a chuckle in their bellies, my work is done.’
Nikol who, along with Maria, was the architect of this fine prank adds, ‘A lot of time and effort went into our little joke and that makes Andreas feel special, I’m sure.’
See for yourself here.
The great poet and writer Robert Graves, who lived in Deia most of his life, loved a good April Fool prank. His son Tómas remembers one in particular. He told me: ‘The one I remember was “William! Lucia! Juan! Tomás! Get up and come downstairs! Don Pedro (the village priest) is here with the choirboys to bless the house.” And each of us coming down the stairs asking “Where is he?” The jokes were only valid until 12 noon.’
In previous years, our April Fools pranks have been litarary rather than purely brilliant. We hope you enjoy reading this one, which fooled a few folk.
