Charles Marlow’s portfolio of homes to rent includes some secluded gems. Add Charles Marlow Concierge and you have the perfect recipe for enjoying private island Mallorca.
Mallorca is looking exceptionally beautiful right now, making it the perfect time to come to the island. Travel and social distancing rules are being relaxed and it’s possible to head to our isla de la calma.
But the island’s wonderful restaurants, bars and shops are still subject to restrictions that make it clear we’re entering into a new normal for the time being rather than going back to the way things were.
And, as we’re all well aware, the virus hasn’t gone away.
So, what do you do if you’ve set your heart on a relaxing getaway to Mallorca but the safety and security of your family are paramount?
You start by speaking to Andreas, West Coast Rentals Manager for Charles Marlow, Mallorca, and Hayley Newbury, who heads up Charles Marlow Concierge.
‘Many of our villas are so private you never have to come into contact with anyone other than your family and friends for the whole of your stay,’ Andreas says.
‘They’re deep in the countryside, can often only be reached by private roads and offer everything you need for a luxurious private holiday retreat. We can also show you many more places not listed online that are way off the beaten track. If you want to enjoy freedom in nature, recharge your batteries and enjoy the amazing Mallorcan outdoor life in some very special places, relax, we have plenty to offer.
Son Veri and Finca Binirossi are two exceptional private island Mallorca rental properties that are currently attracting plenty of interest among viewers of Charles Marlow’s West Coast rentals portfolio.
‘Son Veri near Valldemossa is one of the most special, historic fincas in Mallorca,’ Andreas says. ‘It’s completely private with large terraces surrounding the entire property, and with a direct view to Palma Bay. It also has lawns, gardens and a tennis court to enjoy – all are rarities on the West Coast.’
‘The more modern and light-filled Finca Binirossi sits above Fornalutx, voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, and has spectacular 180-degree views over the entire Soller valley and Tramuntana mountains. Our clients who’ve stayed at Villa Binirossi tell us it’s exceptionally calm and peaceful.’
The private vineyard tours we offer now incorporate social distancing. The first stop is a visit to the oldest winery in Mallorca for wine and tapas. Next we drive through wine country to a typical Mallorcan finca that has been in the same family for six generations. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious three-course lunch cooked over an open fire and savoured in the shade of the vines, accompanied by fine wines including the finca’s own red.
Hayley Newbury, Charles Marlow Concierge.
Finding the perfect hideaway is only part of the story. Which is why Charles Marlow Concierge has been created to make every other aspect of your holiday a breeze.
‘Our service starts before guests even arrive,’ says Hayley Newbury of Charles Marlow Concierge. ‘For our high-end clients, private jet travel is becoming increasingly popular and it’s easy to see why. You don’t have to queue or wait, and you have no contact with onboard staff and passengers you don’t know.’
When it comes to travelling around Mallorca, Hayley’s team works exclusively with car hire firms that disinfect vehicles before and after they’re delivered. Cars are collected after use, so guests don’t need to return them.
The same goes for airport transfers. All vehicles are disinfected before and after the trip. If you prefer, your driver will wear a mask.
Bicycles and scooters are also disinfected before they’re delivered to you.
‘The yacht charter company we partner with disinfects each yacht before and after every charter,’ Hayley says. ‘The captain and steward will wear a mask if you wish and will not come into contact with guests. Yachts collect guests at the nearest departure point, weather permitting. If the villa you’ve rented has a private mooring, yachts can collect from there.’
For clients whose idea of true relaxation involves practicing yoga or being massaged, hygiene is also key. ‘Therapists will wear masks and gloves as needed. Equipment will be sanitized before each treatment and, where possible, equipment will be disposable,’ Hayley says.
Delicious food and drink are an essential ingredient of any magical Mallorca holiday
If your definition of being on holiday means not having to cook, Charles Marlow Concierge can arrange for meals chosen by you and prepared by private chefs to be waiting at your holiday rental.
Should you wish for a private chef to prepare meals at your villa, they will practice strict hygiene and social distancing.
For some of us, part of the fun of being on holiday in a different country is going to the shops or markets. If you’d prefer to forget about shopping, Hayley’s team will shop for groceries, drinks and anything else you need before you arrive and at any time during your stay.
‘We can arrange anything you like,’ says Hayley. ‘It’s as simple as that.’
