Using your time wisely with online courses offered by Mallorca-based teachersJanuary 9, 2021

If you’re feeling now’s the time to develop healthier habits and exercise your creativity, here are four suggestions for online courses in yoga, yin yoga, songwriting and music production and yoga for writers offered by four teachers based in Mallorca.

Mirjam Wagner – healing from within

Mirjam is an experienced and highly trained osteopath and yoga teacher who has built up a loyal following for her classes and trainings all over Europe. She’s highly knowledgeable when it comes to integrating Western and Chinese Medicine into yoga therapy, yin yoga and women’s health.

More recently, Mirjam has become a published author with her book Yin for life. Her book reflects her deep commitment to sharing the Yin aspects of life, whether it’s physical health, the unlimited potential of our psyche, making wise lifestyle choices or the healing practice of yin yoga.

Via her online studio and academy, Mirjam offers attractively-priced online courses and classes in specific topics and empowering practices. A year’s worth of classes currently costs only €49 (€59 from Feb onwards) as well as online courses in getting to know our hormones and, coming soon, feminine archetypes and organ health.

Fredrik Thomander – invaluable insight into songwriting and music production

I took Fredrik’s  introduction to songwriting online course and Ida, who handles social media and marketing for Charles Marlow, has taken his songwriting and music production Master Classes.

We agree that Fredrik’s online courses offer an insight into songwriting, music production and how the music industry really works that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else.

Although you won’t hear it from him, Fredrik’s track record as a songwriter and producer is pretty impressive.

To give you just the briefest idea of his credentials, acts Fredrik has worked with include Justin Timberlake, N’Sync and a host of Japanese and Korean boy and girl bands. Over the years, he’s had a hand in several million selling hits.

He’s also a relaxed, approachable teacher, able to share his hard-won knowledge in a way that’s easy to understand and apply.

Cala Deià is a great place to practice what you learn, whether it’s yoga, music, writing or something else entirely.

David Lurey – expanding your horizons with yoga

Like his partner, Mirjam, David Lurey is a much-loved yoga teacher with an international presence. So it’s a pleasure to be able to practice and share experiences with him online in a variety of ways.

David’s online courses are primarily on the trusted Ekhart Yoga platform. He also offers more therapeutic sequences with Mirjam, at TINT yoga

Current online courses include Expanding Horizons: Bringing functional movements to Yoga practice without losing the ‘Yoga’, Conscious Communication: Tools and exercises for teachers and humans to speak authentically and clearly from the heart and Six Week Men’s Circle: A facilitated group experience to explore physical, mental, emotional and spiritual integration as a man in modern times.

Whichever of David’s online courses you try, you’ll find that his deep knowledge and ability to communicate in a relaxed, clear way, shine through effortlessly through online.

Yoga for writers, writing for yogis with me

As someone who’s been a professional writer all my working life, I know first-hand what it takes to tap into the source of inspiration and to develop a writing practice.

When I discovered yoga – Mirjam and David were among my most inspiring teachers – I realized that it liberated my creativity in a way nothing else ever had and could be relied on to do so every time.

Yoga also taught me discipline and focus and a way of caring for my body that has sustained me in my writing career ever since.

Once I’d learned this, it felt only natural to share what I’d learned with other people. After taking successful workshops, I launched what may well have been the first ever online yoga for writing course.

I’m delighted to say that hundreds of people benefited from taking my course on the highly regarded DailyOM platform.

A freelance writer for many years, David is the author of a number of books and magazine articles, mainly on the subjects of the Beat writers and yoga. He is fascinated by the remarkably rich cultural history of Deia, from Robert Graves to the present day.
